Dear Ackerman Alumni,

I write today to inform you that Mrs. Ethel Brunt, one of our beloved former teachers at Ackerman High School, is very ill. Mrs. Brunt taught bookkeeping, shorthand and typing at Ackerman High School from 1962 until 1993. She had taught prior to that in Mendenhall and McAdams.

Mrs. Brunt's daughter, Julie Brunt Cunningham, graduated from AHS in 1976. Her twin son's, Danny and Derry, graduated from AHS in 1969.

Please remember Mrs. Brunt and her family in your prayers. In addition, take a moment to send her an e-mail greeting or write her a card.

Mrs. Brunt's daughter, Julie, sent me the following note:

Hi, Buddy. I wanted to let you know that Mother is not doing well. We now have Hospice Care for her. Her cancer has spread into her liver. The Grace of God has sustained us for many years, and especially during the last 7 years as we have watched her battle cancer. I know that she would love to hear from her former students, as her teaching career meant so much to her. She often speaks of students, teachers, and principals.
