Baseball Alumni game set
The Choctaw
Chronicle
2/12/03
Saturday, March 15 at the Tom Glasgow Park the
2003 Ackerman Indian Baseball Team will be hosting
the First Annual AHS Alumni Baseball Game. All
former AHS players and coaches are invited and
encouraged to participate. Ackerman players
from teams past will enjoy friendly baseball
competition with their fellow alumni as well as
players on the current Indian roster.
This fund raising event should provide lots of
good-natured competition and excitement for the
entire family. If you are interested in being a
part of the Alumni event, please contact Coach
Adam Dillinger at 662-285-2923 or call the AHS
office at 662-285-3296 by March 1st.
Come show your support for Ackerman Baseball, and help
the Indians continue to build a tradition of
athletic excellence that will be passed on from
year to year. If you know fellow alumni who may
not see this notice, please feel free to contact
and invite them to join in the action.
All friends, family and supporters of Ackerman High
Baseball are encouraged to be a part of this day
of fun, food, fellowship and competitive baseball
from our current players and those from "back in
the day". There will be lots of memories made and
lots of memories re-lived among old friends. A
small admission donation will be collected for the
AHS Baseball program at this fund raising event.
Don't miss it!

year's AHS Baseball Team through a website that
Joel Coleman,

Former AHS Baseball Coach Paul Pounds
This editor recently did an Internet search and
located former AHS Baseball Coach and teacher,
Paul Pounds. Paul's wife, Brenda, was secretary to
the Principal.
Here is a message received from Brenda: "It was good to
hear from you. Paul got out of coaching when we
moved to Columbia (MS) and I just quit working for
Stennis Space Center. We own a B&B which I run and
Paul is Director of the Exposition Center and
Recreation for the city. Things are great. Paul
spoke at the Petal High School Football banquet
last night and we saw people we haven't seen in 30
years. Thanks for adding us to your list. We would
love to attend the reunion if we can. We were
there in 63 and 64. Thanks again for your e-mail
and we hope to see you in April. Keep us posted.
Brenda"
