Dear Ackerman School Classmates and Friends,

The American Heritage Dictionary defines the word reunion as: The act of reuniting; A gathering of the members of a group who have been separated: a high school reunion. Saturday, April 28, 2007, is the day to end our separation and come together for our Ackerman School Reunion! Mark your calendars and plan to join great fellowship with former classmates and friends. We will meet again in the Ty Cobb Complex on campus. Registration begins at 12:00 Noon and the program at 2:00 P.M.

Last year, 171 former students, teachers, coaches and friends of Ackerman School returned to the AHS campus from 8 different states; Mississippi, Tennessee, Louisiana, Texas, California, Alabama, Florida and Georgia. We have alumni who faithfully make the annual trek across the nation to attend and we continue to reach out to those as near as Ackerman in hopes to make this their first year.

Consider A Memorial Gift To Ackerman School Reunion

There will be no charge for your reunion event but we ask you to consider a small donation as you register on April 28 for ongoing expenses of mailings and liability insurance as required by the school board. I suggest that you consider a donation to Ackerman School Reunion in memory or honor of a classmate, teacher, coach or administrator. We will gladly send an acknowledgement of your gift if desired and provided with contact information. In addition, we will post this information on the Ackerman Reunion Website if desired. Our treasurer, Mrs. Ruth Nowlin (54), will gladly assist you with your memorials/honorariums and can be reached at 430 Staten Road, Ackerman, MS, 39735.

Invite Former Classmates To Meet You At AHS This Year

Last year the AHS Class of 1956 was recognized for highest attendance with 18 members present. The classes of 1953 and 1961 tied for second place with each having 14 members present. We could top all records in 2007 if you attend and will encourage your former classmates to meet you at AHS on Saturday, April 28. Why not make a phone call or send them email today?
