Dear Ackerman School Classmates and Friends,

Saturday, April 26, 2008, is the date for our annual Ackerman School Reunion! Mark your calendars and plan to join great fellowship with former classmates, teachers, coaches, administrators and friends. We will meet again in the Ty Cobb Complex on campus. Registration begins at 12:00 Noon and the program at 2:00 P.M. 

Last year, 177 former students, teachers, coaches and friends of Ackerman School returned to the AHS campus from 9 different states; Mississippi, Tennessee, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas, California, Alabama, Florida and Georgia. We have alumni who faithfully make the annual trek across the nation to attend and we continue to reach out to those as near as Ackerman in hopes to make this their first year.

There will be no charge for your reunion event but we ask you to consider a small donation as you register on April 26 for ongoing expenses of postage and liability insurance as required by the school board.

Ackerman Reunion Scholarship Fund Established

Last year we established the Ackerman Reunion Scholarship Fund to provide an annual scholarship of up to $500 to a graduating senior from AHS planning to further his or her education in an academic or vocational field. Please support the scholarship fund with a donation to Ackerman School Reunion in memory or honor of a classmate, teacher, coach or administrator. We will send an acknowledgement of your gift if desired. Our treasurer, Mrs. Drexel McClure (48) jdmc@telepak.net will gladly assist you with your memorials/honorariums and can be reached at 2540 Bywy Rd., Ackerman, MS, 39735.

Invite Your Classmates To Meet You At AHS This Year

Last year the AHS Class of 1957 was recognized for highest attendance with 23 members present. This year the AHS Class of 1958 is planning a 50th Reunion with activities throughout the April 26th weekend.
